Sweet Jesus‘ newest location in Leslieville is a match made in heaven. On a Saturday night, my husband and I were able to walk right up to the window and order right away. The west end location always seems to have a mile long line, which I can imagine is not a pleasant wait. Bright blue, with a vintage feel, this location fits perfectly into the community.
This location seemed to offer fast service, which is always greatly appreciated. Not crazy friendly, but efficient and that is really all I want out of a window ice cream parlor.
There has been a ton of hype around this ice cream in town so I have to say my expectations were high. They offered 5 different options of toppings and my husband and I ended up getting the Banging, Butter Tart and Cookies x 3 & Cream. Both were made out of an extremely thick and creamy vanilla ice cream. I was pretty disappointed overall as the outside flavours really didn’t seem to offer much in the way of uniqueness and the vanilla ice cream was pretty basic and over powered everything. I particularly found the butter tart crust that was sprinkled on the outside to be dry and a weird texture and there was virtually no butter tart sauce.
Considering the size, the price seemed appropriate, but still pretty expensive. I couldn’t finish the whole thing and would have preferred to been able to order a different size.
